Pathology Analysis & Interpretation.

Assess your blood tests using optimal levels, not standard reference ranges.

How many times have you felt like cr*p and been told that your blood tests are “normal”?

In Australia, blood tests are analysed using reference ranges. For example (1-10).

These reference ranges are determined based on an average of all tests taken at one point in time in Australia. Now, how often do you get your bloods tested when you are feeling great? Never? Correct.

This means that the reference ranges used, are reflecting a range of poor health - sick people. Which is why your doctor will often tell you that your results are normal, which they are, for a sick person!

At Mana, we use optimal ranges.

Optimal ranges are reflective of a healthy population, gathered from case studies and clinical trials, specifically random controlled trials (RCT’s) which are the highest form of academic literature and study.

Having your blood tests assessed using optimal ranges, ensures you are gaining insight into where your health sits within a healthy population. If it is ideal, great! If not, your clinical nutritionist can explain why your levels may be off, and also offer an opportunity to explore further in a clinical nutrition consultation.

How does a Pathology analysis work?

1

Get tested

If you are seeing a GP, you may ask them to refer you for blood tests to be covered by Medicare (no cost to you). Your GP will decide which tests are appropriate and let you know how to get them done. Alternatively, if you are already having nutrition consultations, or are open to paying privately, Alyssa can refer you for a routine blood panel and any other markers which may be useful for your health concern. (Costs associated, but more choice).

2

Book with Mana

Book online for your pathology analysis, a 30 minute in person or Telehealth appointment. Send your results to Alyssa prior to appointment to be analysed and have reports completed ready for you to discuss.

3

Your appointment

Gain insight into your health within your pathology analysis and interpretation consultation. Alyssa will let you know what your biomarkers are saying about your health, and give insight into any non-optimal results and why they could be occurring.

Please keep in mind, no advice will be given during this consultation, this is for pathology analysis only. Option to book clinical nutrition appointment is there for further management.
